Wedding Entertainment

Music is one of the key elements of your wedding. You'll replay the melodies from your special day over and over again in your mind for years to come. Don't worry though, with so many choices available you'll be able to create the specific type of wedding ceremony and reception you've always dreamed of.

For your information, the following is a general format that seems to work well on a night.

To begin with you'll need an act that can provide you with about two hours of dinner music consisting of middle of the road songs that will appeal to a wide variety of people. This two hours will allow time to welcome your guests into the venue, get them seated and then also the music during reception dinner.

Next come your speeches. This is normally straight after your main meal has been finished and can take anywhere from ten minutes to over an hour. It really depends on your family members and what you as the bride and groom want. Now as far as the band is concerned, this is the time when we get a break and are provided with a meal.

Towards the end of the speeches you will normally cut the cake. This is where your entertainment REALLY starts to kick in because at this point of the evening you'll be preparing to dance your 'bridal dance'.

Now remember, your guests have been sitting eating, drinking & listening to speeches, your entertainment has been playing dinner music and the mood is mellow. Dessert is finished and now your band is ready to get the party started.

A good entertainer is capable of lifting the energy in a room, however the bridal dance is the signal that tells your guests to move into party mode. Try to make it the last official thing you do because if you serve dessert or make more speeches after the dance it can be difficult to get the party started again.

A Great Wedding Band wants your event to be a very special memory and will do everything in their power to make sure that happens. If your entertainers do not have this commitment then you are wasting your money. Good entertainment is an important element in making your evening a success. The reception venue, food, drink and beautiful surroundings mean very little if your guests are bored.

So the last thing to remember, by choosing the right music you'll set the appropriate mood and atmosphere for each portion of your special day.
